66 mins.
~9 miles
Well, needless to say, I was quite exhausted today after all the driving and lack of sleep. Our compliance meetings and paperwork were tedious, but mercifully we wrapped up around 2pm and I was able to nap and relax for a bit. After a trip to the grocery store, Jordan and I didn't get out the door until at least 7:30 tonight for our run. The air was still quite warm and fraught with moisture--naturally, the day we arrive marked the beginning of a heat wave in Charlotte, ushering in the warmest temps they've had all summer--and despite the absence of the sun I was sweating almost immediately. That said, we had a really nice run down the bike path, through Freedom Park, up East Blvd. and through some of the uber-wealthy neighborhoods around campus. It felt great to finally shake the legs out after several days of being sedentary. Tomorrow morning will be the first official team practice, and I can't wait to get into a routine here.
