I took it nice and easy on my morning jaunt through Lullwater Park, and surprisingly felt decent. I went the short way to the park (down Briarcliff to N. Decatur to Clifton), which involves more time on the sidewalk, but also allowed me to take two loops through the park instead of one. The fall colors were beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed this jaunt.
Beautiful autumn colors in Lullwater Park
In the evening I participated in a Brooks-sponsored fun run at Fleet Feet Decatur. This was their first night for the run, as their store is fairly new, so most people opted for a three-mile loop. By default, I took the lead with a guy named Scott who knew the area pretty well--however, not well enough since we missed one turn-off and ended up adding on a bit. I didn't really mind, as it was a very nice night and I was enjoying being outside.

Hi! I came across your blog awhile back when I was googling "active oval, distance". When I googled "Lullwater Park" today, your blog came up again!
I'm an Atlanta runner (run for the ATC Women's Competitive team), too, and live in Virginia Highlands so our paths may have crossed a few times before! Best of luck in your marathon!
